Position Title: Free Lunch Program Coordinator

Position Type: part time (M-F 30hours/week, some weekends)

Compensation: $18 – $22
About Food Justice Coalition: The Food Justice Coalition is dedicated to ensuring equitable access to nutritious food for all community members. We advocate for systemic changes in food policy and collaborate with local organizations to provide sustainable food solutions.
Job Summary: The Free Lunch Program Coordinator will be instrumental in coordinating and expanding the Free Lunch Program, which provides nutritious meals to underserved populations. This role involves program planning, program operation, community engagement, and reporting to ensure the program’s effectiveness and compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

- Program operation: Runs the daily operations of the Free Lunch Program, including planning, distribution logistics, scheduling volunteers, answering participant inquiries, outreach initiatives.
- Volunteer coordination: Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers involved in the food preparation and distribution processes.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure the program meets all health and safety regulations and grant requirements; compile and submit regular reports to the supervisor.
- Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with community members, local organizations, businesses, government offices, and volunteers to enhance program outreach and impact.
- Event Planning: Organize and manage food drives and other community events to promote the program and engage the community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Nutrition, Nonprofit Management, or related field is preferred.
- At least two years of experience in program coordination, preferably in a nonprofit or community service setting.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in data management and reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Understanding of food safety regulations.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in food justice or related advocacy fields.
- Bilingual abilities (particularly in languages prevalent in the local community).
